Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is a 1957 American Western film, based around the famous gunfight, starring Burt Lancaster as Wyatt Earp, and Kirk Douglas a Doc Holliday. The film is presented with actual historical settings and events, but fictionalizes a lot of the interaction between the characters, and takes creative liberties to follow a solid story plot. Due to the creative liberties taken, the film has been said to be presented as historical fiction.

The film begins with Earp first meeting Holliday in Texas, and then follows the pair on their travels to Dodge City, Kansas, then to Tombstone, Arizona.

The film slowly progresses towards the famous gunfight, but shows the lead up, including their previous interactions with the Clayton Gang, who they fought at the O.K. Corral.

There is a lot of emphasis on the interaction between Earp and his wife, and his willingness to move wherever he feels that he is needed, in order to bring law and justice to rough towns. Along the way Holliday follows him loyally and is willing to fight along side Earp and his brothers whenever they need him.
