A riveting drama about how 2nd marriages in Indian society are stigmatized. This story begins with a look into a young, beautiful songstress's life. Shashikala, a young singer, is married to an older man, of whom she has gotten bored with. Together, the two have two growing children, and Shashkikala doesn't want to part from them. However, Shashkikala is tired of her husband so she seeks love else where. That is when she falls in love with a captain in the army. Afraid of judgement, she does not disclose her current marriage to her husband or tell about her kids to the hansom captain. Soon, the captain finds out, but still wants to marry her.
