Hapkido is a martial arts movie from 1972 starring Angela Mao, Carter Wong, and Sammo Kam-Bo Hung. The film takes place in Japanese-occupied Korea during the 1930s, and follows three Chinese Hapkido martial artists who are studying in Korea. The film begins with the three main characters, Fan Wei (played by Angela Mao), Jian Ming (played by Carter Wong), and Huang Cheng-liang (played by Sammo Kam-Bo Hung), arriving in Korea to study Hapkido. They are welcomed by the owner of the Hapkido school, Master Yeh (played by Ji Han-Jae), who is a close friend of their Hapkido teacher back in China.

As the three students settle into life in Korea, tensions begin to rise between the Chinese and Japanese communities in the area. The Japanese military is cracking down on any signs of resistance, and the Korean people are chafing under their rule.

When the Japanese military targets the Hapkido school as a potential hub of resistance, Master Yeh tries to keep a low profile and avoid confrontation. However, Fan Wei and her fellow students are not content to sit on the sidelines while their community is oppressed.

The main conflict of the movie centers around the students' efforts to resist the Japanese military's attempts at domination. They use their Hapkido skills to fight back against the soldiers and protect their community. Along the way, they make allies with Korean resistance fighters, who share their passion for freedom.

The fight scenes in Hapkido are fast-paced and exciting, and the choreography is top-notch. The film features a wide variety of martial arts styles, including Hapkido, karate, and kung fu. The stunts and acrobatics are impressive, and there are several scenes where the actors perform risky maneuvers like jumping from rooftops.

Beyond the action scenes, the film also touches on themes of friendship, loyalty, and bravery in the face of oppression. Fan Wei, Jian Ming, and Huang Cheng-liang are all fiercely dedicated to each other and to protecting their community. They are willing to put their lives on the line for what they believe in, and their courage is truly inspiring.

Overall, Hapkido is a classic martial arts film that offers an exciting and action-packed ride. The performances by Angela Mao, Carter Wong, and Sammo Kam-Bo Hung are all excellent, and the supporting cast is equally strong. The film delivers on both the martial arts action and the stirring themes of resistance and bravery. Anyone who loves martial arts movies or action movies in general will definitely want to check out Hapkido.
