Young theater goers will probably not agree with the lack of penguin distinction. The original Happy Feet in 2006 was very popular and grossed a great deal of money. It even won the Oscar award for best animated film feature. The penguins have their own personalities though and that makes them truly distinct. However, the other penguins we may say provide a very talented "look just like one another" supporting cast.
Keep in mind global warming causing Antarctica to melt away. The preceding was the warning of the original "Happy Feet". In "Happy Feet Two" nothing has changed as far as warming up the cold icy regions of the Earth's environment. An enormous amount of glacier subsequently breaks away stranding the penguins in a remote area from which the look-alikes cannot escape. However, Erik and a few of his buddies who were naughty penguins; running away from home are outside of the bowl where the other penguins are trapped: The movie revolves around how the penguins might escape from the bowl.
"Happy Feet Two" is managed as a true musical with a nice sampling of different types of music. There are arias so evidently the penguins are quite cultured as far as their musical education and tastes. This is an enormous achievement considering their remote location. Actually it's not explainable how they found out about any kind of music. Does it make a difference though? The youngish audience member is exposed to all kinds of music and probably does not care one way or another how the penguins learned about the variety of music offered by the film.
Two new characters come forth in "Happy Feet Two" with voices supplied by actors: Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. The creatures are known as krills. A krill looks something like a shrimp with a generous supply of legs; although frail thin legs.
The movie's action takes place near the ice bowl where the penguins become trapped. They can either climb out or slide back into the bowl. Penguins can easily slide back into the bowl. There stunts with respect to the ice bowl are very inventive.
Lessons learned within the film are the genuine kind of lessons about: developing self esteem, the importance of familial units and hope. The movie has a great deal of philosophical thought attached to it. Penguins naturally live not easy lives; and the film kind of proves it.
