Hatchet III is a horror film that was released in 2013. It is the third installment in the Hatchet series and follows the story of Marybeth (Danielle Harris) as she continues her quest to end the reign of terror caused by the legendary Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). The film begins right where the previous one left off. Marybeth has just escaped from Crowley's clutches and is on the run from the police, who think she is responsible for the murders that have taken place in the swamp. She is determined to stop Victor Crowley once and for all, and enlists the help of local hunter Trent (Zach Galligan) to guide her through the dangerous terrain of the swamp.

As they make their way deeper into the swamp, they come across a group of heavily armed paramilitary soldiers who are also searching for Crowley. Marybeth, Trent, and the soldiers soon find themselves in a battle for survival as they face off against the unstoppable and brutal Crowley.

The movie is directed by BJ McDonnell and produced by Adam Green, who directed the first two Hatchet films. McDonnell, who worked as a camera operator on several horror films including The Walking Dead, brings a unique visual style to Hatchet III, with stunning and intense action sequences that keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

The film also boasts an impressive cast, with horror icon Danielle Harris returning as Marybeth, a character she first played in Hatchet II. Kane Hodder, who played Jason Voorhees in several Friday the 13th films, is excellent as the terrifying Victor Crowley, a beast who is almost impossible to kill. Zach Galligan, known for his role in the Gremlins films, delivers a strong performance as Trent, a character who is much more complex than he appears at first glance.

One of the strengths of Hatchet III is the way it expands on the mythology of the series. The film reveals more about Victor Crowley's backstory, and we learn that there is even more to his twisted persona than we first thought. Fans of the series will appreciate the new information and Easter eggs that are scattered throughout the film.

Another highlight of the movie is the practical effects. The gore in Hatchet III is over-the-top and graphic, but it is also a nod to classic horror films of the 80s and 90s. The makeup and prosthetics used to create the kills are impressive, and the film never feels like it relies too heavily on CGI or other digital effects.

Overall, Hatchet III is a worthy addition to the Hatchet series. It is a fast-paced, action-packed horror film that will satisfy fans of the genre. The film's strong cast, impressive practical effects, and unique visual style make it a must-see for horror fans everywhere.

Hatchet III is a 2013 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.6 and a MetaScore of 25.
