Hello Ghost is a 2010 South Korean comedy-drama film that follows the story of Sang-man (Tae-hyun Cha), a down-on-his-luck man struggling with depression who decides to end his life by jumping off a bridge. However, every time he tries to jump, he is stopped by the appearance of the ghosts of four people who all committed suicide on the same bridge. These ghosts, who have also failed at ending their lives, keep appearing to him until he is eventually admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

While in the hospital, Sang-man discovers that the ghosts are following him because they want him to help them complete their last wishes in order for them to be allowed into the afterlife. Sang-man initially struggles to believe the ghosts, but soon he decides to help them and embarks on a journey to fulfill their final wishes.

Throughout the movie, we are introduced to each of the ghosts and their stories. There is a musician who lost his hearing in a car accident, a high school girl who was bullied by her classmates, a man who struggled to support his family, and a reclusive man who had never experienced love. Sang-man must navigate his own struggles while helping the ghosts to fulfill their final wishes.

As Sang-man carries out the wishes of the ghosts, he begins to understand the importance of life and the impact we can have on others. He finds a purpose in helping the ghosts and starts to form relationships with those around him, including his psychiatrist, played by Ye-won Kang.

Hello Ghost is a funny and heartwarming film that tackles the serious topic of mental health in a unique and relatable way. The movie explores the themes of death, depression, and suicide, but does so with humor and sensitivity. The film does not glorify suicide, but instead, it shows the struggles of those who have contemplated it and the importance of seeking help and support. It also highlights the power of friendship and the impact that small acts of kindness can have on others.

One of the strengths of Hello Ghost lies in the performances of the actors. Tae-hyun Cha delivers a nuanced performance as Sang-man, perfectly balancing the character's depression and humor. Moon-su Lee, who plays the reclusive ghost, is particularly memorable as he portrays a wide range of emotions without ever speaking a word.

The cinematography of the film is also noteworthy, especially in the scenes where Sang-man is interacting with the ghosts. The film uses visual effects to make the appearance of the ghosts eerie and surreal, adding to the overall atmosphere of the movie.

Overall, Hello Ghost is a heartwarming and thought-provoking film that explores important themes in a unique and entertaining way. It is a great blend of comedy and drama and is sure to leave a lasting impression on viewers.
