Holiday in the Sun is about two girls vacationing in the Bahamas with their families. There, they find love, friendship, and thieves. The girls become part of an investigation when a guy who has stolen artifacts crosses their path. Their friend is arrested for the crime even though it wasn't him who committed it, and they have to save him.
Madison and Alex, played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, are two sisters who go to the Bahamas on vacation with their family over Christmas break. At first, they're quite upset about going because they wanted to go to Hawaii on break with their friends from school. Their parents didn't agree with two young girls going to Hawaii without adult supervision, so they made them come with them instead.
Although the trip started out on a sour note, the girls both ended up finding boys they liked. Alex likes Jordan who works at the resort they're staying at, and Madison likes Scott, who is actually told what to say by Madison's long time friend Griffen who has always liked her, but Madison isn't aware of that. Alex has a problem with her boyfriend as well, seeing as how a rich girl at the resort, Briana, also likes him. She tells Alex that she always gets what she wants.
When a man who has stolen some artifacts comes into the picture, the girls and their friends get caught up in it. Alex's boyfriend Jordan ends up getting framed for it, and they now need to come up with a plan to get him out of jail. Through helping Madison and her sister find a plan, Griffen ends up admitting his feelings to Madison. She realizes that he was the one who coached Scott on what to say to her, and discovers that he has liked her all along.
Through all of Madison and Alex's hard times, they teach us one thing. Family is important, as well as friends. You always need to stick together and help one another out, no matter what.
