Watch How Tasty Was My Little Frenchman

This is a 1971 Brazilian production based in part upon historical accounts of the experiences of Portuguese and French explorers who arrived in Brazil in the early part of the sixteenth century. The movie attempts to accurately portray what the initial interactions with the indigenous inhabitants may have been like, and the actors playing the natives speak in authentic native dialects. The movie develops its story in a documentary style, chronicling the increasingly precarious relationship between the Europeans and the indigenous peoples as they warily gauge each others' intentions.
