Incarnate is a horror-thriller movie that was released in 2016, directed by Brad Peyton and starring Aaron Eckhart, Carice van Houten, and Catalina Sandino Moreno. The movie is set in a world where there are people who possess the ability to enter the minds of others, which allows them to heal them of any possessed demons or mental illnesses that they may have. One such person is Dr. Seth Ember (Aaron Eckhart), who is able to enter the minds of those who are possessed by a demon, and force the demon to leave the victim's body.

The story revolves around Dr. Ember, who is haunted by a tragic past in which his wife and son were killed in a car accident caused by a demon-possessed driver. In the present, a young boy named Cameron (David Mazouz) is possessed by a demon, and Dr. Ember is called upon to help exorcise him. However, Dr. Ember discovers that this is no ordinary possession, and the demon Cameron is possessed by is known as the "man who cannot be named" and is thought to be one of the most powerful demons in existence.

Dr. Ember is warned by two of his colleagues, Oliver (John Pirruccello) and Ilsa (Carice van Houten), that this particular possession is unlike any other he has faced before, and that he is putting himself in grave danger by attempting to exorcise the demon. Despite the risks, Dr. Ember is determined to help Cameron, and he enlists the help of a neuroscientist named Lindsey (Catalina Sandino Moreno) to help him navigate Cameron's mind and find a way to exorcise the demon without killing the boy.

Throughout the movie, we are taken on a terrifying journey through Cameron's mind, where we witness the horrors of the demon and its attempts to kill Dr. Ember and Lindsey. We also see Dr. Ember confronting his own demons and struggling to come to terms with the loss of his family.

Incarnate is a unique take on the exorcism genre, with a strong emphasis on the psychological aspects of possession. The movie explores the idea that possession is not just a supernatural occurrence, but also a manifestation of the victim's own psychological trauma. The movie is also visually stunning, with some fantastic special effects and cinematography that really captures the surreal nature of Cameron's mind.

The acting in the movie is solid, with Aaron Eckhart delivering a great performance as Dr. Ember. He manages to convey the pain and guilt that his character feels, while also portraying a sense of determination and bravery in the face of danger. David Mazouz also delivers a strong performance as Cameron, managing to convey both the innocence of the boy and the darkness of the demon possessing him.

Carice van Houten and Catalina Sandino Moreno also deliver solid performances, with van Houten playing the role of the cautious and logical Ilsa, and Moreno playing the role of the curious and brave Lindsey.

Overall, Incarnate is a solid horror-thriller movie that is definitely worth watching, especially if you're a fan of the exorcism genre. The movie is well-paced and delivers plenty of scares, while also providing a unique take on the genre that sets it apart from other movies in the same category.

Incarnate is a 2016 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.3 and a MetaScore of 30.
