It Was One of Us is a psychological thriller from 2007 that chronicles the events that unfold when a group of friends reunites for a weekend retreat at a cabin in the woods. The film stars Sarah Joy Brown, Elisa Donovan, and Kira Clavell in lead roles. The movie opens with a group of six former college friends arriving at the cabin, each with their own baggage and secrets. There's the unhappy couple, Tess (Brown) and Derek (Mark Collier); the flirtatious and manipulative Alexis (Donovan); the reformed drug addict Mark (Willie Garson); the quiet and introspective Rachel (Kira Clavell); and the brooding, intense Lucas (Tom Schmid).

As they settle into the cabin and begin to catch up, tensions and rivalries start to emerge. There are murmurs of past betrayals and resentments, and it becomes clear that there are old wounds that have never fully healed.

Things take a turn for the sinister when Lucas goes missing in the woods. As the search party scours the surrounding area for him, strange and unsettling events begin to occur. Mark discovers a hidden room in the cabin filled with ominous symbols and cryptic messages, while Tess starts to have vivid and disturbing dreams.

As the weekend wears on, it becomes clear that each of the friends has something to hide. Suspicions mount and alliances shift, as they try to figure out what's really going on in the woods. Is someone playing a sinister game, or are they all being haunted by their own demons?

At its core, It Was One of Us is a tense and unsettling thriller that explores the cost of secrets and the power of guilt. The film does an excellent job of building a sense of claustrophobia and paranoia, as the characters become increasingly isolated and unsure of who they can trust.

The cast does a solid job with their roles, with Sarah Joy Brown in particular delivering a standout performance as Tess, the emotionally fragile wife who starts to unravel as the weekend progresses. Elisa Donovan is also excellent as the seductive and manipulative Alexis, who may or may not be playing a dangerous game.

The plot is well-crafted and keeps the viewer guessing until the very end. There are plenty of twists and turns, and the film does an excellent job of building a sense of dread and unease as the mystery deepens.

Overall, It Was One of Us is a well-crafted and effective thriller that will appeal to fans of the genre. It's not a groundbreaking or particularly original film, but it's well-executed and delivers plenty of suspense and intrigue.
