J.D.'s Revenge is a suspenseful and thrilling horror movie released in 1976. The movie tells the story of a young law student named Isaac (Glynn Turman), who becomes possessed by the spirit of a former gangster named J.D. (David McKnight). The story is set in New Orleans in the early 1940s, and it encompasses themes of racism, injustice, and vengeance.

Isaac is a hardworking and ambitious young man who is about to graduate from law school. He is married to a beautiful and supportive wife named Christella (Joan Pringle), and he has a bright future ahead of him. However, his life takes a turn when he attends a hypnosis show for his friend's birthday party. During the show, Isaac becomes possessed by the spirit of a former gangster named J.D. who was killed in the 1940s.

J.D. was a notorious gangster who was killed by a corrupt police officer named McKinney (Louis Gossett Jr.) during a shootout. McKinney was supposed to be on the side of the law but was involved in illegal activities with J.D. Isaac becomes obsessed with finding out what happened to J.D. and seeks revenge against McKinney and his family.

As Isaac becomes more and more possessed by J.D.'s spirit, he starts to experience visions and flashbacks of J.D.'s life. He also starts to act like J.D., wearing his suits, smoking his cigars, and even using his mannerisms when he talks. Christella becomes concerned for her husband's well-being and tries to support him, but she soon realizes that he is not himself.

Isaac enlists the help of a local psychic named Mama Ben (Alice Jubert), who helps him understand the power of the spirits and the importance of embracing the truth. Mama Ben tries to help Isaac exorcise J.D.'s spirit, but the process is difficult and dangerous.

The plot thickens when Isaac discovers that McKinney's daughter, Betty Jo (Jo Anne Meredith), is involved in a blackmail scheme that could ruin his father's career. Isaac is torn between his love for his wife, his desire for revenge, and his duty to do the right thing. He eventually confronts McKinney and learns the truth about what happened to J.D.

The movie is a gripping and intense thriller that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The performances are excellent, particularly Glynn Turman's portrayal of Isaac, which is both sympathetic and disturbing. The movie also touches on important social issues such as racial discrimination and police corruption.

Overall, J.D.'s Revenge is a classic horror movie that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. It is a must-see for fans of the genre and anyone interested in exploring the darker aspects of human nature.
