In this adaptation of a Russian folk tale, a beautiful peasant girl is persecuted by her wicked stepmother. When the put-upon Nastenka is rescued by a handsome young man named Ivan, the couple make their way through the Russian forest, where they encounter the magical Father Frost. Also known as Morozko, this Soviet-era film was released in the United States in 1966. It was also the subject of a parodic treatment on the comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000.
