Jayam is a 2003 Indian Telugu romantic action drama movie directed by Teja featuring Jayam Ravi, Sada, and Gopichand in lead roles. The movie deals with the love story between Sujatha (Sada) and Siva (Jayam Ravi) against the backdrop of familial feuds and gang wars. The movie was a commercial hit and was remade in Tamil and Kannada languages.

Sujatha is a college student who falls in love with Siva, a charming and courageous guy who settles scores with those who wrong him or his friends. Their love story blooms despite the opposition from their families, who belong to warring factions. Siva's father (Chitram Seenu) and Sujatha's brother-in-law (Sujitha) are the main antagonists in the film, and their enmity threatens to take a toll on the lovers.

The first half of the movie sets up the characters and their motivations, while the second half packs in the action and drama. The romantic moments between Siva and Sujatha are a highlight of the movie. Jayam Ravi's charming performance as Siva is noteworthy, and he displays his action chops in the climax fight sequence. Sada delivers a good performance as Sujatha, who is torn between her love and her family's expectations.

Gopichand appears as Aravind, Siva's childhood friend, and the leader of a gang. Aravind's character has a shade of grey, and Gopichand pulls it off convincingly. His presence adds to the masala quotient of the movie, and his chemistry with Jayam Ravi is impressive.

The music score by R.P. Patnaik is one of the main strengths of the movie, with several chart-busting numbers that became popular in the early 2000s. The cinematography by V. Srinivasa Reddy is another plus point, with some well-shot action sequences and picturesque landscapes.

The movie's screenplay by Teja is tight and keeps the viewers engaged throughout. The emotional quotient is high, and the characters are well-defined. The movie's theme of love conquering all obstacles is a familiar trope but is executed well in Jayam. The climax, although predictable, is intense and delivers the goods.

Overall, Jayam is a well-crafted commercial movie that appeals to the masses. The performances, music, and direction elevate the movie from being just another run-of-the-mill romance-action movie. The movie's success led to remakes in Tamil and Kannada, but the Telugu version remains a classic in its own right.
