The movie features a heartwarming story of two individuals who fall in love and overcome various obstacles to be together. The movie showcases the life of Sanjeev Kumar, a lazy and carefree man who lives with his widowed mother (Tanuja) in a small village. Sanjeev is often criticized by his mother for his idle lifestyle and is constantly reminded to find a job. Sanjeev's life changes when he meets Usha (Jaya Prada), who is looking for a job in the city. Sanjeev agrees to help Usha in finding a job, and in the process, he falls in love with her.

Usha, on the other hand, is a hardworking and independent woman who dreams of becoming a successful businesswoman. She moves to the city to pursue her dreams but struggles to find a job. Sanjeev helps her in finding a job as a secretary in a company, and Usha soon becomes an integral part of the company. However, their happiness is short-lived as Usha's boss, Mr. Nath (Suresh Oberoi), who is also in love with Usha, tries to sabotage their relationship. The chemistry between Rakesh Roshan and Jaya Prada is the highlight of the movie, and their performances are laudable. Tanuja also delivers a powerful performance as Sanjeev's mother, who wants her son to be responsible and self-sufficient.

The music of the movie, composed by Rajesh Roshan, is also noteworthy. The songs 'Tum Se Badhkar Duniya Mein', 'Aaj Rapat Jaayen Toh', and 'Tum Jaise Chutiyo Ka Sahara Hai Dosto' are still popular among audiences even after three decades of the movie's release.

Kaamchor was a commercial success and remains a timeless classic. The movie is a perfect blend of romance, comedy and drama and showcases the importance of hard work, determination and true love.
