Kangaroo Jack is a 2003 Australian-American action-comedy film directed by David McNally and written by Steve Bing and Barry O'Brien. The film stars Anthony Anderson, Jerry O'Connell, Estella Warren, and Christopher Walken. The movie begins with childhood friends Charlie Carbone (Jerry O'Connell) and Louis Booker (Anthony Anderson) being sent to Australia by Charlie's stepfather, Salvatore 'Sal' Maggio (Christopher Walken), to deliver $50,000 to a contact. While in Australia, the two men accidentally hit a kangaroo with their jeep, causing it to be knocked unconscious. In an attempt to take a funny picture with the kangaroo, they put a jacket on it, and it wakes up and hops away with the money in one of the pockets.

Desperate to recover the money, Charlie and Louis set out to catch the kangaroo by using a tracking device. Meanwhile, they meet Jessie (Estella Warren), a wildlife conservationist, who agrees to help them with their quest. The trio goes on a wild adventure through the Australian outback, encountering various obstacles, including a group of drunken cowboys, a tribe of Aborigines, and Livingston (Marton Csokas), a mercenary hired by Sal to retrieve the money.

As they get closer to the kangaroo, Charlie and Louis become friends with the animal, whom they nickname "Jack." They realize that the animal is not just a mindless beast but has its own personality and behaves like a human. As a result, they become more attached to the kangaroo and are reluctant to turn it over to Sal, who cares only about the money.

In the end, they are caught by Livingston, and Sal arrives to retrieve the money. However, they discover that the money that Sal gave them to deliver was counterfeit, and the real money was in a briefcase that Sal always carried with him. Furious, Sal chases Livingston while Charlie, Louis, and Jessie escape with Jack, who has the real money in his pouch. They decide to return the money to the Aborigines that Sal had stolen it from and donate the remaining money to Jessie's wildlife reserve.

The movie is a mix of action, comedy, and adventure. It has a unique blend of live-action and CGI, with the kangaroo being portrayed by a computer-generated character. The movie was marketed as a family-friendly film, but some critics found the movie too violent and inappropriate for children.

Overall, Kangaroo Jack is a fun and entertaining movie that will leave viewers laughing from start to finish. With its beautiful location shots of the Australian outback and hilarious moments featuring the unlikely trio of Charlie, Louis, and Jack the Kangaroo, it is sure to become a family favorite.

Kangaroo Jack is a 2003 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 29 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.5 and a MetaScore of 16.
