Kid Rodelo is a 1966 Western movie starring Don Murray, Janet Leigh, and Broderick Crawford. The movie follows the titular character, Kid Rodelo, who returns to his hometown after spending several years as an outlaw. Rodelo was a notorious gunslinger, but now he wants to leave his past behind and start a new life. However, things don't go as planned, and he gets embroiled in a complex web of revenge, betrayal, and love.

The movie opens with Kid Rodelo riding into the fictional town of Dempsy, where he grew up. He's immediately recognized by the sheriff, Broderick Crawford, who advises him to leave town as his old gang is still around. But Kid Rodelo has his own reasons for staying in town. He wants to make amends with his estranged father and reunite with his childhood sweetheart, Nora. However, when he reaches his father's ranch, he learns that his father has been killed. The authorities suspect that Rodelo's old gang, led by Ike, is behind the murder. But Rodelo thinks otherwise and takes it upon himself to find the real killer.

As the movie progresses, Kid Rodelo gets caught up in various conflicts surrounding the murder. He gets involved with a local saloon owner, Jeannie, who is secretly in love with him. He also has a run-in with a group of bandits, who are planning to rob the local bank. All of these events culminate in a final showdown between Kid Rodelo and the forces of evil.

Don Murray's performance as Kid Rodelo is noteworthy. He portrays the character with a mix of charisma and vulnerability, and the audience can't help but root for him. Janet Leigh, who plays Nora, is charming as always, and her on-screen chemistry with Don Murray is palpable. Broderick Crawford, as the stern Sheriff Harker, is convincing as a man of authority.

The movie's cinematography is also worth mentioning. The wide-angle shots of the dusty plains and the rugged landscapes of the American West add to the movie's authentic Western feel. The movie's score, composed by Nelson Riddle, is also memorable. The twangy guitar chords and the catchy whistle motif are instantly recognizable.

Kid Rodelo is a typical Western movie, but it has its moments of originality. The plot twists and turns, and the characters are not always what they seem. The movie explores themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the nature of love. Kid Rodelo's struggle to start a new life represents the classic Western archetype of the lone hero trying to escape his past. But unlike many Westerns, Kid Rodelo doesn't glorify violence. The movie's ending is satisfying and well-deserved.

Overall, Kid Rodelo is a solid Western movie that fans of the genre will appreciate. Don Murray, Janet Leigh, and Broderick Crawford deliver excellent performances, and the movie's cinematography and score are top-notch. While it's not a groundbreaking movie, Kid Rodelo is an enjoyable watch that captures the essence of the classic Western genre.
