Kuruvi is a 2008 Tamil-language action film starring Joseph Vijay, Trisha Krishnan, and Suman. Directed by Dharani, the film follows the story of Vetrivel, a man who works as a carrier for smugglers. However, things take a complicated turn when he tries to expose his boss, a dangerous gangster. The film takes place in Chennai, where the protagonist Vetrivel runs a small business transporting cargo via rickshaw. He is a cheerful and charming man, who is always willing to help those in need. When his father is killed by a gangster named Koccha, Vetrivel decides to take revenge on his family's behalf. He supports his sister and her education while working for Koccha, patiently waiting for an opportunity to strike.

However, Vetrivel's life takes a turn when he meets Priya, a girl from his hometown, who is now living in Chennai. They start falling in love, but things become more complicated when Vetrivel discovers that Koccha is planning to smuggle diamonds via his cargo. Vetrivel decides to take the risk and differentiate himself from the other carriers by accepting the job from Koccha himself.

As expected, things do not go according to plan, and Vetrivel soon finds himself in deep trouble. Koccha double-crosses him by sending people to kill him after he has delivered the diamonds, leaving Vetrivel to figure out how to get out alive. As Vetrivel tries to navigate the dangerous world of gangsters and smugglers, he is forced to reveal his true intentions and identity to Priya, putting her life in danger.

Throughout the film, Vijay portrays Vetrivel's character well, perfectly balancing the charismatic aspects with the dangerous side of his personality. Trisha Krishnan, as Priya, brings a ray of hope and innocence to the otherwise dark world that Vetrivel inhabits. Meanwhile, Suman, as Koccha, manages to create a convincing villain who viewers will love to hate.

One of the highlights of the film is the action sequences. They are well choreographed and executed, especially the climax scene, which is a high-speed train chase. The music by Vidyasagar also adds to the overall experience. The songs are catchy, and the background score sets the tone for each scene.

Overall, Kuruvi is an intense action film that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The story is well-written, the characters are well-developed, and the action scenes are thrilling. The film manages to balance the emotional and action-packed sequences successfully, leaving viewers with a satisfying and enjoyable experience.

Kuruvi is a 2008 action movie. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.2.
