Labu dan Labi is a Malaysian comedy film produced in 1962, directed by P. Ramlee, and starring him alongside M. Zain and Udo Omar. This film tells the story of two bungling friends, Labu (P. Ramlee) and Labi (M. Zain), and their various escapades as they try to find work and make ends meet. The movie begins with Labu and Labi working at a construction site, where they are fired for causing chaos and destruction. They then move on to various odd jobs, including selling bananas and working at a laundry, but they are always met with failure due to their incompetence.

One day, they learn of a job vacancy at a wealthy man's house, and they decide to apply for it. However, when they arrive, they realize that the job is to serve as guards for a haunted house. Despite their fears, they end up getting the job, but the ghost (played by Udo Omar) turns out to be friendly and helps them out.

As Labu and Labi continue to work at the haunted house, they meet a beautiful woman named Zaiton (played by Azizah Hashim). Labu immediately falls in love with her, but she is already engaged to another man. Labu tries to win her over by pretending to be a wealthy man, but his plan backfires when Zaiton's fiancé catches him in the act.

Meanwhile, the wealthy man who owns the haunted house (played by Ahmad Nisfu) is being swindled by his greedy relatives. Labu and Labi, with the help of the ghost, come up with a plan to expose the relatives' scheme and save the wealthy man's fortune.

As the movie comes to a close, Labu and Labi are rewarded for their bravery and ingenuity, and Labu is finally able to win Zaiton's heart.

Labu dan Labi is a classic example of Malaysian comedy, with slapstick humor and witty dialogue. P. Ramlee and M. Zain's chemistry is undoubtedly the highlight of the movie, as their characters' antics leave the audience in stitches. Their friendship is portrayed in a heartwarming manner, with their unwavering loyalty to each other, even in the face of failure.

The character of the ghost adds a supernatural element to the movie, and Udo Omar's performance is both creepy and humorous. Ahmad Nisfu does an excellent job portraying the wealthy man who is clueless to his relatives' schemes, and Azizah Hashim's portrayal of Zaiton adds a romantic subplot to the movie.

Aside from the humor and romance, the film also touches on themes of greed and the importance of friendship. Despite Labu and Labi's failures, their triumphs and their strong bond show that success is not necessarily measured by wealth or status.

Overall, Labu dan Labi is a must-watch for anyone interested in classic Malaysian cinema. Its charming characters, witty humor, and heartwarming moments make it a timeless classic that is sure to delight audiences even after almost 60 years since its release.
