Let It Ride is a 1989 comedy film directed by Joe Pytka and stars Richard Dreyfuss, Teri Garr, and David Johansen. The movie follows a gambler named Jay Trotter, played by Dreyfuss, who is having an incredibly bad day at the horse track. He can't seem to win a single bet, and he's down on his luck when his friend Looney, played by David Johansen, gives him a tip on a horse race that he's sure to win.

Despite his terrible luck, Trotter decides to take a chance and place a bet on this horse, and to his surprise, he wins. This sets off a chain reaction of wins and wins again, as Trotter becomes more and more convinced that his luck has finally turned. He starts to place bigger and bigger bets and finds himself caught up in the excitement of the track.

Throughout the movie, Trotter interacts with a cast of quirky characters, including his wife, Pam, played by Teri Garr, a group of degenerate gamblers, and various other track regulars. As the day goes on, Trotter's winning streak doesn't seem to let up, despite the odds being against him. In fact, he starts to believe that he's invincible, and begins to take risks that he normally wouldn't.

As the races progress and the bets keep piling up, Trotter's winnings continue to mount, and he finds himself on the ride of his life. However, as in any good story, things are not always what they seem, and Trotter's winning streak begins to unravel in unexpected ways.

The film is an entertaining and engaging comedy, with a good mix of drama and humor. Richard Dreyfuss brings his usual charm and wit to the role of Jay Trotter, and the supporting cast is equally strong. The horse racing scenes are well-shot and exciting, while the character interactions provide plenty of laughs and emotional depth.

Ultimately, Let It Ride is a fun and engaging film that will keep you entertained from start to finish. Whether you're a fan of horse racing or just good comedy, this movie is definitely worth a watch.

Let It Ride is a 1989 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 27 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.8 and a MetaScore of 33.
