Life Express is a thought-provoking drama released in 2010. The film portrays the heart-wrenching story of two women, one from a small village and the other from a big city, who come together due to unforeseen circumstances. The movie explores the theme of surrogacy and the emotional trauma that comes with it. The story follows the life of a young, ambitious couple, Aditya (played by Kiran Jhangiani) and Sia (played by Rituparna Sengupta), who are unable to conceive a child. Despite trying every medical solution available to them, they are unable to conceive. Frustrated and disillusioned, they turn to surrogacy as a solution.

Meanwhile, in a small village in Rajasthan, a young woman named Kavita (played by Divya Dutta) struggles to make ends meet for her family. Her husband, who was the sole earning member of the family, passes away due to an accident, leaving Kavita with the responsibility of taking care of their two young children. She is devastated but determined to find a way out of the situation.

In a stroke of luck, Kavita discovers an opportunity to become a surrogate mother for a rich, childless couple. She sees this as a chance to earn money and provide a better life for her children. Aditya and Sia, on the other hand, see this as a way to fulfill their dream of becoming parents.

As the surrogacy process begins, Aditya and Sia find themselves emotionally attached to Kavita. However, things take a turn when Kavita faces backlash from her own family and society, who see her decision to become a surrogate as a taboo.

The movie then takes the viewers on an emotional ride as the three protagonists struggle to come to terms with their own emotions and the challenges they face in their respective lives. Kavita, who had agreed to become a surrogate to provide a better life for her children, finds herself in a dilemma as she begins to develop feelings for the child growing inside her.

Furthermore, the societal norms and taboos surrounding surrogacy in a conservative village like Kavita's make it impossible for her to continue with the pregnancy. Meanwhile, Aditya and Sia grapple with their own set of problems as Sia begins to feel left out of the entire process.

The film beautifully captures the subtle nuances of human emotion and the bonds that develop, despite differences in social status and backgrounds. It highlights the sensitive issue of surrogacy and its impact on the lives of all those involved.

The performances in this movie are noteworthy, with Rituparna Sengupta delivering a power-packed performance as Sia. Divya Dutta's portrayal of Kavita is rich in emotion and touches the heart of the viewers. Kiran Jhangiani, too, stands out with his realistic portrayal of Aditya.

The film's soundtrack, composed by Roop Kumar Rathod, is soulful and melancholic, adding depth to the overall narrative.

Overall, Life Express is a movie that will leave a lasting impression on the viewers, making them introspect about the ethical and moral aspects of surrogacy. It is a film that raises societal issues that are not often spoken about, and does so many sentiments. It is definitely worth watching.
