A modern day tale of David vs. Goliath set in football crazed Ohio, Little Giants pits the O'Shea brothers against one another after ex-football star and older brother Kevin cuts Danny's standout daughter Becky "Icebox" O'Shea from the local Peewee team. Led by "Icebox", the rejects propose the idea of starting their own football team to Danny in hopes of being able to play organized football. Unfortunately, Kevin reminds Danny there can only be one team per town which would leave the rejects sidelined for the season. As a result, Danny challenges Kevin to a one game playoff with the winner representing their town in the Peewee league. With the help of some of the town folks, Kevin accepts the challenge.
The upcoming game becomes a less bit mismatched after Danny convinces new-to-town standout linebacker Spike to join his team by lying to his father about being THE O'Shea. Danny also recruits tight-spiraled throwing star player Junior who also happens to be the son of his childhood crush. With the Giants new additions, the game looks like it could be anybody's to win. That is until Spike quits because he refuses to play with Becky and then Becky quits because she has a crush on Junior and thinks he likes cheerleaders. After the rest of the team loses all hope, Danny manages to get a group of NFL Hall of Famers to visit the down-trodden Little Giants and lift their spirits.
Game day quickly arrives and early on Kevin's Cowboys take a 21-0 half time lead. Danny tries to inspire his players by giving them the speech of his life asking them to remember what the Hall of Famers had taught them. The Little Giants take it to heart and make a comeback until ex-Giants player Spike lays a cheap shot on the Giants best player, Junior. When Becky sees what happens, "Icebox" returns to the gridiron to take on the Cowboys and lead the Little Giants to an unbelievable comeback win.
