Love Hurts is a 2009 romantic comedy film staring Richard E. Grant, Carrie-Ann Moss and Johnny Pacar. It was directed by Barra Grant. Dr. Ben Bingham is a conservative middle aged ear, nose, and throat doctor, who spends most of his time in the office. He believes his life is perfect until he comes home one day and his wife Amanda has left him. Their teen-age son Justin is about to leave for college and Amanda wants to start a life on her own.
Ben becomes depressed and starts boozing, mumbling and staying in his pajamas for weeks at a time. Tired of his father's behavior Justin talks him into getting a makeover and joining a gym. With a new hairstyle and clothes, Ben soon has girls hitting on him everywhere he goes. He tries to prove to his wife he has changed, but she is seeing someone else and wants nothing to do with him.
Justin and his friends take Ben out to a karaoke bar and he goes home with twin sisters. Justin encourages his father to enjoy his new life. Soon, Ben is sleeping with his nurse, the karaoke loving twins and his physical trainer. He becomes a party animal, staying out every night. Justin is afraid he has created a monster. Ben is so busy having fun he does not even know his son has fallen in love with a Russian ballerina.
After being rejected by the ballerina, Justin is now the one depressed. He stays in his room all the time and does not want to talk about it. Now it is the Ben's turn to help his son. He then decides to teach his son about true love and how to win over the ballerina. In the process, he realizes just how much Amanda means to him and is determined to win her back.
