Majaa is a 2005 Tamil-language comedy-drama film directed by Shafi and produced by Rockline Venkatesh. The movie features popular actors like Vikram, Asin Thottumkal, and Pasupathy in lead roles, supported by Vadivelu, Manivannan, and others. The movie is set in a village where there are two factions, each led by the two opposing families - the Iyer and the Reddy. The movie begins with the death of the Iyer patriarch, who had promised his daughter Radhika (Asin) in marriage to the Reddy's son Arjun (Vikram), which would have led to the unification of the two warring parties. However, with the death of the Iyer, the Reddy's vow to take revenge on the Iyer and refuse to marry Arjun to Radhika.

Arjun is an easy-going young man, who loves to fool around with his friends and is not keen on the wedding either. However, when he accidentally meets Radhika, he is smitten by her beauty and begins to pursue her without knowing her true identity. Radhika, on the other hand, assumes a different identity in the village, pretending to be a simple schoolteacher, and starts teaching the children in the village.

Meanwhile, the Reddy family led by Pasupathy, is hell-bent on avenging their honor, and they come up with a plan to kidnap Radhika and marry her to their aged relative. Arjun, with the help of his friends, manages to save Radhika, and the two fall in love with each other. However, when the truth of Radhika's identity is revealed, the Reddy's back out of their vow, and the two families reconcile.

The movie is a wholesome family entertainer that combines comedy, drama, and romance in equal measure. Vikram is excellent as Arjun, the carefree young man who is not afraid to stand up against injustice. Asin Thottumkal shines in her role as Radhika, the strong-willed girl who is determined to unite the two families. Pasupathy is aptly cast as the fierce leader of the Reddy faction.

The movie boasts of a strong supporting cast, with Vadivelu's comic timing adding to the laughter quotient. The cinematography by Udayakumar is beautiful, capturing the scenic beauty of the village in all its glory. The music by Vidhyasagar is another highlight of the movie, with foot-tapping numbers like 'Chillena' and 'Ennai Kandathum Yen Nee'.

One of the movie's strengths is its script, which deftly balances the various sub-plots and themes, from family feud to romance, from comedy to action. The director Shafi has done an excellent job in keeping the narrative engaging and entertaining throughout the movie's run time. The dialogues by Gopu are witty and memorable, and the movie has several memorable one-liners.

Overall, Majaa is a must-watch for anyone looking for a wholesome family entertainer that will leave you smiling. The movie has all the ingredients of a classic Tamil masala movie, but with a modern sensibility, making it relevant even today. The movie's message of love and unity is universal and is something that we can all relate to.
