Man from Frisco is a 1944 spy thriller. Robert Florey directed and Michael O’Shea stars in the film. It is similar to other propaganda movies made during World War II. Florey plays civil engineer Matt Braddock. Braddock is based in a real life character named Henry Kaiser. Braddock wants to introduce his idea for prefabricated shipbuilding, but his plans run into various obstructions. The story is basically a story of a good guy struggling against adversity. O’Shea is excellent in his role as the well-meaning and tough Braddock. Anne Shirley plays his love interest. The movie, however, suffers from clichés typical of other propaganda style films.
