Watch Matinee Mouse

This brief film displays a Tom and Jerry cartoon slightly over five minutes in length. It depicts the ongoing rivalry between the mischief making mouse, Jerry, and his dedicated feline pursuer, Tom. Considerably less violent than many Tom and Jerry cartoons (there is still some mayhem on screen) the film draws upon previous episodes in a very creative way. The plot revolves around an important issue: can the two old enemies ever really develop friendship? In the opening scene, Jerry takes temporary refuge in a birdhouse; he becomes a displaced mouse. This theme pervades the humorous cartoon until the end.
