McQ is a classic cop movie from 1974, starring the legendary John Wayne as Lieutenant Lon McQ. The film is set in Seattle and follows McQ's investigation of a drug cartel that's operating within the local police department. The movie begins with McQ being suspended from duty due to his involvement in a shootout that resulted in the death of a young black man. Despite being cleared of any wrongdoing, the incident has left a mark on McQ's reputation and he's forced to hand in his badge and gun.

But McQ is not one to sit idle, especially when he realizes that his friend and fellow cop, Stan Boyle, has been murdered. Boyle was investigating the drug cartel at the time of his death and McQ is convinced that it was not a random act of violence.

With the help of Boyle's widow, played by Diana Muldaur, McQ sets out to uncover the truth and bring the drug cartel to justice. Along the way, he faces opposition from his former colleagues in the police department, as well as the cartel members themselves.

Eddie Albert delivers a memorable performance as the shady businessman and drug lord, Emanuel Theodorus, who is at the heart of the cartel's operations. McQ's investigation takes him on a dangerous journey into the criminal underworld, as he battles corrupt cops, hired assassins and drug dealers.

The movie's action sequences are well choreographed and keep the audience on the edge of their seats. John Wayne is at his best as the tough and determined cop, who doesn't hesitate to bend the rules in order to get the job done. Despite his age, Wayne still manages to pull off convincing fight scenes and car chases.

McQ also features a strong supporting cast, including Colleen Dewhurst as Myra, who owns a bar frequented by both cops and criminals, and Julian Christopher as Santiago, Emanuel Theodorus' ruthless enforcer.

The movie's climax is a thrilling showdown between McQ and the cartel, which takes place aboard a ship in the Puget Sound. The final confrontation is both dramatic and satisfying, with plenty of gunfire and explosions.

Overall, McQ is a classic cop movie that delivers on action and suspense. John Wayne's performance is a reminder of why he was considered one of Hollywood's greatest leading men, and the supporting cast provides excellent support. If you're a fan of classic action movies, McQ is definitely worth checking out.
