Midnight in Saint Petersburg is a 1996 espionage thriller film directed by Douglas Jackson and starring Michael Caine, Jason Connery, and Yuri Limonty. The movie is a sequel to the 1995 film Bullet to Beijing and follows the further adventures of MI6 agent Harry Palmer. The movie takes place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where a Russian mafia boss known as Alexei (played by Yuri Limonty) is planning a massive arms deal that could plunge the world into chaos. Harry Palmer (Michael Caine) is sent by MI6 to stop the arms deal and prevent a potential catastrophe.

As soon as Harry arrives in Russia, he is greeted by his old friend Nikolai (played by Jason Connery), who helps him navigate the complex underworld of Russian politics and criminal activity. Harry quickly discovers that Alexei has a vast network of spies and informants working for him, making it difficult for him to gather intelligence on the arms deal.

Despite the obstacles in his way, Harry is determined to stop the arms deal at all costs. He teams up with a female Russian police officer named Natasha (played by Tanya Jackson) to track down the arms dealers and prevent the sale from going through.

As the story progresses, Harry and Nikolai find themselves caught up in a web of corruption and deceit that goes all the way to the top of Russian government. They must navigate the dangerous political landscape of Saint Petersburg and rely on their wit and expertise to stay alive and complete their mission.

Throughout the movie, Michael Caine delivers a strong performance as the ever-resourceful Harry Palmer. His character is smart, intuitive, and always one step ahead of his enemies. Jason Connery also shines in his role as Nikolai, adding a sense of humor and charm to the movie.

The movie is shot on location in Saint Petersburg and features stunning cinematography that captures the beauty and history of the city. The filmmakers make excellent use of the city's iconic landmarks, such as the Hermitage Museum, the Peter and Paul Fortress, and the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, to add a sense of authenticity and realism to the movie.
