In the film, Miss Bala, the main character is Laura Guerrero. She is living with her dad and brother in a Mexican city that does not have any law enforcement. Laura's dream is be a beauty queen. She decides to enter the pageant in Baja, California. She decides to go to a club with her pal, Suzu. It was at this time that a drug cartel decides to burst through the door and kill most of the people at the club. The murders find Laura in a corner but they decide to let her go.

Laura makes the mistake of going back to the club to look for her friend, Suzu. The murders do not like the fact that Laura came back, so they decide to kidnap Laura. They make her go along with all their criminal activities as they threaten her life as well as lives of her family members. You will have to watch the film to find out the rest!
