When Stefan graduates, he decides to take a trip from Lubeck to Paris. He hitchhikes and takes no money with him so that he can truly experience the world. He meets a man named Charlie and they become quick friends. Stefan meets a woman named Estelle at a party and Charlie warns him against getting involved with her. It is too late because Stefan has already fallen hard for her. He finds out that Estelle has a stash of heroin and decides to try it with her. It is the first step in his descent to the depths of Hell.
