Mouth to Mouth is a gritty coming-of-age drama that follows the story of an idealistic, outspoken teenage girl named Sherry (played by Elliot Page) who runs away from home in search of a community of like-minded people who share her passion for activism and social change. Along the way, she joins a group called SPARK, a self-proclaimed "family" of idealistic young people who have cut themselves off from the rest of society in order to pursue their own brand of utopian ideals.

At first, Sherry is enamored with the group's charismatic leader, Harry (August Diehl), who promises to give her a sense of purpose and belonging in a world that she perceives as being shallow and superficial. Under his influence, she goes through a string of intense initiations that test her commitment to the group's cause, including scavenging through dumpsters for food and risking arrest in order to protest against animal testing.

As Sherry becomes more involved with SPARK, she grows increasingly uncomfortable with the group's extreme methods and begins to suspect that Harry may be taking advantage of the other members' vulnerability and naivete in order to maintain his own power and control.

Things come to a head when the group decides to take their activism to a new level by kidnapping a wealthy businessman and holding him hostage in order to broadcast their message to the world. As tensions escalate within the group and the situation spirals out of control, Sherry is forced to confront the reality of the choices she has made and decide whether to stay loyal to the "family" she has chosen or to break away and forge her own path.

Throughout Mouth to Mouth, the viewer is confronted with some uncomfortable truths about the corrosive effects of groupthink and the seductive lure of charismatic leaders who prey on vulnerable individuals in order to create their own power structures. At the same time, the film also explores the importance of community and belonging, and the innate human desire to make a difference in the world.

The performances in the film are top-notch, with Elliot Page delivering a standout portrayal of Sherry as a complex and conflicted character who is simultaneously brave and vulnerable. Natasha Wightman also shines as Roxanne, a fellow SPARK member who serves as a foil for Sherry's idealism and serves to propel the story forward.

While Mouth to Mouth may not be for everyone, due to its occasionally unsettling subject matter and unflinching examination of the darker side of human nature, it is undeniably a powerful film that is well worth watching for anyone who is interested in thought-provoking dramas that explore the complexities of the human experience.
