Muran is a 2011 Tamil-language psychological thriller directed by Rajan Madhav. The film stars Prasanna, Cheran, and Haripriya in the lead roles, with Nikita Thukral and Suma Bhattacharya in supporting roles. The movie is produced by Cheran's home banner Dream Theatres. The plot of the movie revolves around two characters, Arjun and Shanmugam. Arjun (Cheran) is a rich businessman, who falls in love with a salesgirl named Shenbagam (Haripriya). Shenbagam being an innocent girl, and Arjun being a rich guy, she falls for his charm and accepts his marriage proposal.

On the other hand, Shanmugam (Prasanna) is a detective who is investigating the murder of a political leader. During his investigation, Shanmugam comes across Arjun, and he begins to suspect him. However, Shanmugam's investigation leads him to discover that there are two sides to Arjun's personality.

The story takes a twist when Shanmugam finds out that Arjun has a twin brother, Hari (Cheran), who is totally opposite to him in personality. While Arjun is charming and a people person, Hari is quiet, reserved and introverted.

As the movie progresses, Shanmugam uncovers the complex relationship between Arjun and Hari. It is revealed that Arjun has been duping everyone around him, including his own wife, through a series of clever sleights of hand. Meanwhile, Hari lives as a recluse, and has no knowledge of his brother’s activities. However, he is not innocent, as Shanmugam discovers that Hari is the real murderer of the political leader.

The movie draws the audience into a world of deception, intrigue and suspense as it uncovers the complex web of relationships between the two brothers, and their respective wives. Both the lead actors, Cheran and Prasanna, have played their roles perfectly, and Haripriya has brought in the required innocence to her character, Shenbagam.

Apart from the excellent performances by the lead cast, the music of the movie is quite impressive. Sajjan Madhav has composed the background score, and the song "Hey! Rathu" is a catchy number that adds to the suspense of the movie.

Overall, Muran is a well-written and well-directed psychological-thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The movie is a must-watch for those who love psychological thrillers, and those who want to explore the complex nature of human relationships. It is a perfect blend of suspense, deceit and emotions, wrapped in an engrossing storyline.
