Night of the Living Dead is a 1990 horror film directed by Tom Savini and starring Tony Todd, Patricia Tallman, and Tom Towles. It is a remake of the 1968 classic horror film of the same name directed by George A. Romero. The movie centers around a group of people who are trapped in a farm house in rural Pennsylvania during a zombie apocalypse. The movie opens with Barbara (Patricia Tallman) and her brother Johnny (Bill Moseley) visiting their father's grave. While at the cemetery, they are attacked by zombies and Johnny is killed. Barbara manages to escape and makes her way to a nearby farmhouse. There she meets fellow survivors Ben (Tony Todd), Harry Cooper (Tom Towles), and his wife Helen (McKee Anderson) and their daughter Karen (Heather Mazur).

The group barricades themselves inside the house, trying to figure out how to survive the zombie attack. They begin to bicker and argue about the best course of action. Harry is a stubborn man who wants to stay inside the house while Ben believes that it is better to leave the house and make a run for it. Meanwhile, the zombies are slowly breaking through the barricades, and as the night advances, the tension and horror that terrorize the occupants of the farmhouse.

The movie is a classic example of a zombie horror film, where the various aspects of tension, gore, and psychological terror combine to create an engrossing experience. One of the distinguishing features of the movie is the use of practical effects, which makes the gore and violence extremely realistic. Tom Savini is known for his work on previous horror films and uses his talent as a creature effects wizard to make the zombies truly terrifying.

The performances in the movie are excellent. Tony Todd (who would later go on to star in the Candyman franchise) is particularly impressive as Ben. He brings a quiet intensity to the role that makes his character a standout. Patricia Tallman is also very good as Barbara.

The film's cinematography is also noteworthy. It uses dark and moody lighting to create a sense of claustrophobia and fear. The film is set entirely at the farmhouse, which adds to the trapped feeling of the characters. The filmmakers also use interesting framing devices and shots to create interesting visuals that add to the horror of the movie.

Overall, Night of the Living Dead is a classic horror film that still holds up today. It has everything that one would look for in a zombie apocalypse movie, a great cast, and impressive practical effects. Even fans of the original will enjoy this visceral and terrifying remake.

Night of the Living Dead is a 1990 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 32 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.8 and a MetaScore of 54.
