Ocean’s Twelve is a heist comedy film directed by Steven Soderbergh and released in 2004 as a sequel to the successful 2001 film, Ocean’s Eleven. This movie stars a star-studded cast that includes George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia, Matt Damon, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Don Cheadle. The film follows the story of the same group of thieves led by Danny Ocean (Clooney) and Rusty (Pitt), who are forced to steal again in order to pay back the money they stole from Terry Benedict (Garcia) in the first movie. The group travels to Europe, particularly Amsterdam and Rome, in search of a new score. However, this time they encounter a mysterious thief known as “the Night Fox” (Vincent Cassel) who poses a threat to their success as they attempt a complex heist against his own target.

The group, of course, reunites with their team members from the first movie, including the hacking genius Livingston Dell (Eddie Jemison), explosives expert Basher Tarr (Cheadle), and the feisty Linus Caldwell (Damon). Adding to the already star-studded cast is Roberts, who plays the role of Tess, the love interest of Danny, and the only woman in their group of thieves. She eventually gets involved in the heist herself, posing as a famous actress to help them achieve their goal and outsmart the Night Fox.

As expected, Ocean’s Twelve is filled with witty dialogues, humor, and a heavy dose of coolness that the first movie was known for. The heist takes some unexpected turns and the team's trust in each other is tested as their professionalism is challenged by the Night Fox. Amsterdam and Rome provide an excellent backdrop for the heist, and the cities' landmarks are extensively used in the film, adding a unique touch that sets it apart from its predecessor.

The movie’s soundtrack is also a standout, which features a compilation of songs by various artists such as David Holmes, Robbie Williams, and the Rolling Stones. Their music contributes to the film’s upbeat atmosphere, accentuating its cool and stylish vibe.

Moreover, the film is notable for having some of the best moments of situational comedy in any heist movie. One of the most memorable scenes is an extended joke involving Bruce Willis and his friends, who are playing themselves. They are sitting at a poker table outside a building in Los Angeles, and they overhear the crew talking about their complicated plan to steal the North African manuscript. It is a meta moment that reflects the self-awareness and memorability of the movie.

All in all, Ocean’s Twelve is a fun, enjoyable heist flick that is packed with charm and humor. The movie's style shines through its fine cast members, cinematography, production design, and musical selections, all of which make this a must-watch for any fan of the genre.

Ocean's Twelve is a 2004 thriller with a runtime of 2 hours and 5 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.5 and a MetaScore of 58.
