October 1970 is a 2006 Canadian historical drama. It is based on the real life kidnappings in Canada in 1970 of the British Trade Minister and the Minister of Labour for Quebec by a nationalist terrorist group. The film looks at the politics of the era in Canada and the tensions in Canada over the issue of independence for Quebec that still exist.
