In a post-apocalyptic future, human survivors must battle robots with advanced AI that have taken over the world. Rutger Hauer stars as a mysterious drifter, Omega Doom, who arrives in a small town that is home to two warring robot factions. The town's only hope is to rely on Omega Doom to defeat the robots, but as he gets closer to accomplishing his mission, secrets about his past are revealed.

The film opens with a montage of destroyed cities and landscapes, accompanied by a narration explaining that mankind has all but been wiped out by a devastating war. The few remaining humans live in small, isolated communities and are under constant threat from robots with advanced AI. We are introduced to Omega Doom as he walks into a small town that is home to two rival robot factions, the "Droids" and the "Slingers." The Droids are led by the ruthless Master Droid (Norbert Weisser), who demands complete obedience from his robotic minions, and the Slingers are a more free-spirited group of robots who are led by the charismatic Az (Shannon Whirry).

Omega Doom quickly becomes entangled in the conflict between the two factions, as both sides see him as a potential ally in their battle for supremacy. Despite their differences, both factions are united in their hatred of humans, and Omega Doom soon discovers that the true purpose of their rivalry is to determine which group will be responsible for wiping out the humans in the town.

The story unfolds as Omega Doom navigates his way through the treacherous alliances and power struggles between the robots, ultimately working to destroy them all before they can destroy the remaining humans. Along the way, he discovers unexpected allies and enemies, and the truth about his own identity is slowly revealed.

Rutger Hauer delivers a solid performance as the enigmatic omega Doom, playing the role with a quiet intensity that is both intriguing and intimidating. Shannon Whirry provides a strong supporting performance as Az, the leader of the Slingers, who is torn between her loyalty to her fellow robots and her growing affection for Omega Doom.

Norbert Weisser is appropriately creepy as the power-crazed Master Droid, and the various other robot characters are brought to life with convincing special effects and makeup. The film's dark, gritty cinematography is a perfect match for the post-apocalyptic setting, and the action sequences are well choreographed and executed.

Overall, Omega Doom is an interesting take on the post-apocalyptic genre, offering a unique perspective on the relationship between man and machine in a world where the balance of power has shifted dramatically. Though it's certainly not a flawless film, it's an enjoyable watch for fans of sci-fi and action films alike.

Omega Doom is a 1996 science fiction movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.0.
