Once Upon a Time in China IV (1993) is a martial arts film directed by Yuen Bun and starring Wenzhuo Zhao, Jean Wang, and Siu Chung Mok. The film is the fourth installment in the popular series and follows the adventures of legendary martial arts master Wong Fei-hung as he battles against foreign invaders and corrupt officials in 19th century China.

The film opens with Wong Fei-hung (Wenzhuo Zhao) returning to Canton after a period of absence, only to find that his city has become a hotbed of corruption and crime. The local officials are in league with foreign powers, allowing them to exploit the Chinese people and subjugate them. Wong Fei-hung and his disciples are determined to fight back against this injustice and restore order to the city.

As Wong Fei-hung becomes embroiled in the political struggle, he also faces a personal challenge when he falls in love with a beautiful courtesan named Aunt Yee (played by Jean Wang). Aunt Yee is also desired by the powerful and ruthless businessman Master Kau (played by Xiong Xin Xin), who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

Amidst all this drama, Wong Fei-hung and his disciples must also face off against a group of foreign mercenaries who have arrived in Canton and are wreaking havoc in the streets. These mercenary forces are led by an American martial arts expert named Billy (played by Billy Chow), who is determined to conquer China and spread Western influence throughout the country.

The action in Once Upon a Time in China IV is as dynamic and thrilling as in previous films in the series, with elaborate fight choreography and stunning visual effects. The film also explores deeper themes of patriotism, loyalty, and personal sacrifice, as Wong Fei-hung and his disciples put everything on the line to defend their homeland.

Wenzhuo Zhao delivers a charismatic and commanding performance as Wong Fei-hung, showcasing his martial arts skills and his dedication to justice and honor. Jean Wang is also excellent as Aunt Yee, showing both vulnerability and strength as she navigates the dangerous waters of Canton's political landscape.

The supporting cast is equally impressive, with Siu Chung Mok delivering a standout performance as Wong Fei-hung's disciple Leung Foon. Xiong Xin Xin is suitably menacing as the villainous Master Kau, while Billy Chow brings a sense of danger and intensity to the role of Billy, the American mercenary.

Overall, Once Upon a Time in China IV is an exciting and action-packed martial arts film, full of memorable characters and thrilling set-pieces. It is a worthy addition to the series and a must-see for fans of the genre.
