One-Eyed Jacks is a 1961 Western starring Marlon Brando. It is also the only film that Brando ever directed. This makes it an interesting must see for this reason alone. Stanley Kubrik was the original choice for the director but was replaced by Brando. Sam Peckinpah wrote the screenplay. This is another reason to see the movie. Peckinpah is infamous for his realistic and gritty screenplays.
Brando plays Rio. His father and mentor is Longworth(Kari Malden). Rio and Longworth, along with a third man, rob a Mexican bank. They are tracked and Rio is betrayed by his father. He spends five years in prison, and wants revenge after he is released.
