Paperman is a romantic black and white short film created by Walt Disney Animation Studios and directed by John Kahrs. Released in 2012, the film had no dialogues and relied completely on music and imagery to express its story. The movie starts with the depiction of the life of the protagonist - a young man named George. He is seen commuting to work in a drab subway train, dressed in a suit and tie like everyone else. While waiting at a platform for his train, he notices a woman across the opposite platform. The woman, named Meg, drops her papers, and when George tries to catch them, he misses and instead of hitting Meg, the wind carries the papers away. As the train arrives, George boards it and forgets about the brief encounter.

However, when George reaches his office building and begins to work, he sees Meg again, working in the building across from him. Their eyes meet, and for a brief moment, they share a smile while continuing with their work. George can't stop thinking about her and runs to the window, hoping to see her again. But Meg has disappeared from her office, and George assumes he has lost his chance to see her again.

Feeling disheartened, George leaves his office and heads to the subway. While waiting, he notices a paper airplane in the wind, reminiscent of the papers Meg dropped earlier. Following the airplane, he discovers Meg on another platform waiting for her train. Without hesitation, he grabs one of the papers lying on the platform and folds it into a paper airplane, intending to get her attention. He throws it towards her and misses, prompting him to fold another one. Realizing he is causing a scene, George puts away the papers and waits for his train, feeling dejected again.

As George boards his train, he sees the same paper airplane he had thrown earlier, flying towards him. To his surprise, Meg had folded her airplane with the paper he had thrown. He rushes to her platform, and they share a moment while playing and following the paper airplanes. However, their joy is short-lived as Meg's train arrives, forcing her to say goodbye to George.

In another act of desperation, George decides to chase after Meg's train, believing that he finally found the person he was meant to be with. But as he reaches the end of the train line, he once again has to say goodbye to Meg. Saddened and heartbroken, George walks away, only to see a paper airplane floating towards him. He takes it, expecting to see Meg's handwriting on it, but instead, he finds his lost paper from work.

Feeling defeated, he is about to crumple the paper when he sees a sign of Meg in one of the buildings. Desperate and hopeful, he tries to get her attention using the paper, holding it up against the window. In a magical moment, the paper airplane comes back to life, guided by Cupid's arrow, and leads George to Meg's building. Finding Meg, George finally musters the courage to speak to her, and they share a magical moment.

In the end, the two of them are seen walking out of Meg's office building, holding hands, with a flock of paper airplanes soaring above them.

In conclusion, Paperman is a beautiful and heartwarming tale of two strangers who fall in love in a chance encounter, with the help of paper airplanes and Cupid's arrow. The film illustrates how small moments can lead to significant, life-changing experiences and how even something as simple as a piece of paper can become a magical connection between two people. With splendid animation, captivating music, and a lovely story, this movie is a masterpiece and definitely worth watching.
