Parugu is a 2008 Telugu-language action drama film directed by Bhaskar and produced by Dil Raju. The film stars Allu Arjun, Sheela Kaur, and Prakash Raj in lead roles. This movie is about a young man who falls in love with a girl from a strange community and risks everything to be with her. The film opens with an introduction of the protagonist, Krishna (Allu Arjun), who is a happy-go-lucky youth who has a carefree attitude towards life. He lives with his family in a small village named Dharapuram. One day, he sees a beautiful girl named Neelakanta (Sheela Kaur) and immediately falls in love with her. He follows her to know her better and collects information about her from her colleagues. With time, his love strengthens and he starts pursuing her more ardently.

However, Neelakanta belongs to a community where the girls get married to the person chosen by their elders. She is already engaged to a man named Veerayya (Prakash Raj). Despite Krishna's protestations, Neelakanta and Veerayya get married the next day. Krishna decides to help Neelakanta escape from Veerayya's clutches and the rest of the movie is about how he fights with Veerayya and his goons to get Neelakanta back home.

Parugu has a thrilling story which keeps the audience engaged throughout the movie. The film is well-directed by Bhaskar, who has previously directed movies such as Bommarillu and Orange. The music and background score by Mani Sharma increases the overall appeal of the film. The film has received mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike. Despite that, it was a commercial success at the box office.

Allu Arjun has played the role of Krishna with ease and portrays his character's emotions perfectly. His chemistry with Sheela Kaur is remarkable, and they complement each other well. Sheela Kaur has done justice to her character, and her acting skills are impressive. Prakash Raj, who plays the role of Veerayya, is an established actor, and is terrific in his role as the possessive husband.

The film has a few comic scenes, which mostly involve Krishna's friends. They add to the entertainment value of the film. The fight sequences are well choreographed and are a treat to watch. The cinematography and visuals are pleasing to the eye, and the editing is crisp, making the film run seamlessly.

One of the notable features of the movie is its setting. The movie is set in a remote village, and the director has done a fantastic job of capturing the essence of village life. The costumes, makeup, and characters are all in harmony with the rural setting.

The film also touches upon various social issues. The practice of forcing girls into marriages with men chosen by their elders and the consequent loss of their freedom is portrayed well. It also highlights the importance of love and friendship and how they can overcome any obstacle.

In conclusion, Parugu is a well-made movie that has all the elements of a commercial entertainer. With its engaging story, good performances, comedy, drama, and action, it doesn't disappoint. It's a must-watch for Allu Arjun fans and for those who enjoy an engaging storyline with some great visuals.
