Petty Romance is a charming and lighthearted romantic comedy from South Korea, released in 2010. Directed by Kim Jeong-hoon, the film stars Lee Sun-kyun and Kang-hee Choi in the lead roles, with Oh Jung-se in a supporting role. It tells the story of a struggling webtoon artist and a pornographic comic writer who team up to win a lucrative comic contest.

The film opens with a glimpse into the life of Jeong Bae, a talented but unsuccessful comics artist who creates webtoons for a living. Living in a cramped studio apartment in Seoul, he spends most of his time sitting in front of his computer screen, trying to come up with ideas for his next comic series. His work isn't making him a lot of money, and he often has to take on odd jobs to make ends meet.

One day, Jeong Bae gets an opportunity to enter a two-month-long competition for comic artists. The prize money is a whopping fifty million won, which is a fortune compared to what he usually earns. However, the competition requires him to collaborate with a writer, and he has to find someone who can work with him without driving him crazy.

Enter Lee So-hee, a foul-mouthed pornographic comics writer who is also struggling to make ends meet. So-hee is the opposite of Jeong Bae in many ways. She is loud, aggressive, and never minces her words. She appears to be the last person Jeong Bae would want to work with, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and he decides to give her a chance.

From here on, the film is a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs as the odd couple of comics artists tries to come up with a winning idea for the contest. As they work together, Jeong Bae and So-hee soon discover that they have more in common than they thought. They both have dreams and aspirations, and they both have faced rejection and failure in their chosen careers.

Jeong Bae and So-hee's partnership is not without challenges. Their differing personalities clash often, and they have different ideas about what makes a great comic. So-hee's raunchy and explicit ideas often offend Jeong Bae's more delicate sensibilities, and he finds himself having to put up with a lot of things he is uncomfortable with.

Despite their differences, the two slowly begin to form a genuine connection. So-hee is impressed by Jeong Bae's dedication and passion for his work, while Jeong Bae admires So-hee's honesty and sharp wit. They bond over their shared love for comics and begin to see each other in a new light.

As they work on their entry for the contest, Jeong Bae and So-hee find themselves faced with unexpected roadblocks. Jeong Bae's ex-girlfriend, a popular webtoon artist, enters the competition, and he finds himself having to battle his feelings of jealousy and resentment. So-hee, on the other hand, faces a personal crisis that threatens to derail their efforts.

Through it all, Jeong Bae and So-hee persevere, and their collaboration leads to some of the most creative and innovative comics ideas ever seen in the competition. The film climaxes with an exciting and nail-biting finale that will keep audiences guessing until the very end.

Petty Romance is a delightful and entertaining film that will appeal to anyone who loves rom-coms and comics alike. Lee Sun-kyun and Kang-hee Choi give outstanding performances as the reluctant couple, and their comedic chemistry is off the charts. The film is also visually stunning, with excellent cinematography that showcases the beauty of Seoul and the world of comics.

Overall, Petty Romance is a must-watch for anyone who loves a good romantic comedy. With its charming characters, witty dialogue, and heartwarming story, it is sure to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.
