Quarantine is a 2008 horror movie that follows a news reporter and her cameraman as they spend the night with a group of firefighters in Los Angeles. The film begins with reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman, Scott Percival (Steve Harris), documenting the lives of firefighters on their night shift. However, when the team responds to a 911 call from an apartment complex, things take a deadly turn. They arrive to find the building overrun with what they believe to be sick people or drug addicts, and soon realize they are dealing with something much more terrifying. Within moments, the building is locked down, and the residents quarantined to prevent the outbreak from spreading.

Angela and Scott continue to document what's happening, even as they start to realize the deadly nature of the virus. As they attempt to find a way out of the building, they discover that the virus has caused its victims to become violent and aggressive, attacking anyone who comes near them.

The group fights their way through the apartment complex, trying to find an escape before it's too late. Meanwhile, they struggle to find a source of information on what's happening, as they're cut off from the outside world.

As the night progresses, the situation becomes increasingly dire, with the group facing life and death situations at every turn. Quarantine is a suspenseful, gruesome horror movie with intense performances from its lead actors. It's a remake of the Spanish film [rec], but the American adaptation retains the same claustrophobic atmosphere and jump scares that made the original such a hit.

One of the things that makes Quarantine so effective is how it's shot. The entirety of the movie is shot from the perspective of the news crew's camera, giving the audience an immersive experience that makes them feel like they're right in the middle of the action. This also adds to the feeling of claustrophobia, as the audience is trapped with the characters in the small space of the apartment complex.

The cast is small but strong, with Jennifer Carpenter standing out as Angela. She takes the audience on a wild ride, as she goes from being a curious reporter to a terrified survivor. Her performance is often physical, as she's forced to run, climb, and fight her way through the building.

Steve Harris and Columbus Short also deliver strong performances as the other members of the group. Harris plays Scott as a jaded cameraman who's seen it all, while Short gives a sympathetic portrayal of a firefighter who's trying to keep everyone safe.

Overall, Quarantine is a well-done horror movie that's not for the faint of heart. It's relentlessly intense and will have audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end. With its strong performances, immersive camera work, and gruesome special effects, it's definitely one to add to your list of horror movies to watch.

Quarantine is a 2008 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 29 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.9 and a MetaScore of 53.
