Relative Evil is a dramatic thriller released in 2001, directed by Tanya Wexler and starring Jonathan Tucker, Jennifer Tilly, and David Strathairn. The movie centers around a wealthy family, the Pragers, who are grieving the suicide of their youngest member, Timothy. The Pragers are preparing for Timothy's funeral when his older brother Henry (Tucker) returns home after being away for some time. There's an immediate sense of tension between Henry and his father, Gary (Strathairn), who thinks that Henry has returned only to claim his share of the family fortune. Meanwhile, Henry's mother Gail (Tilly) greets him warmly, but she is clearly unhappy with her husband and the way he is handling Timothy's death.

The Pragers are joined by some other guests for the funeral, including Will (William Sage) - a childhood friend of Henry's - and Ruby (Charlayne Woodard) - a psychic medium who had previously spoken with Timothy. As the funeral service begins, Ruby suddenly has an intense psychic episode and collapses. Afterwards, she tells the Pragers that she believes Timothy's death was not a suicide, but rather a murder.

This revelation sets in motion a series of events that expose the dark secrets and deceptions that have been plaguing the Prager family for years. As Henry attempts to uncover the truth about what really happened to his brother, he finds himself embroiled in a dangerous web of lies and manipulation. He also becomes romantically involved with Ruby, causing further tensions within the already fractured Prager family.

Through intense flashbacks, viewers get a glimpse of Timothy's life and his relationships with various members of the Prager family. It's revealed that Timothy was something of a loose cannon, with a history of drug use, domestic violence, and shady business dealings. It also becomes clear that all of the members of the Prager family have secrets they'd rather keep hidden, and they are willing to go to great lengths to protect themselves and their reputations.

Relative Evil is a tense and twisty mystery that keeps viewers guessing until the very end. The film explores themes of family loyalty, guilt, and the lengths people will go to in order to protect themselves and those they love. With a talented cast delivering strong performances, and a tight, suspenseful plot that's filled with surprises, this movie will appeal to anyone who loves a good psychologically thrilling drama.
