Doris "Granny D" Haddock had been retired for over twenty years. When her husband passed away she decided to run for the U. S. Senate at the age of ninety four. Doris was ninety years old at the time she decided to walk across America and make her stand in the political world. She made friends as well as enemies as she walked along the Washington beltway. Doris voiced her opinions and personal convictions in her campaign of democratic ideas and the influence of money in the elections. "Granny D" encouraged everyone to vote in all elections and be heard.
