Watch Saranggola

Saranggola, localized into English under the title of The Kite, is a dramatic Filipino film from 1999. Homer is a troubled former officer who struggles with raising his young son, Rex. While Homer is regarded as a bit of a thug within his low income Manila neighborhood, a misunderstanding between him and a young child with a kite results in bloodshed and an expedient desire to destroy or hide any evidence of the misdeed. While Homer tries to cope with his misjudgment, Rex must assess his father after secretly witnessing the man's act. Saranggola's dialogue switches between Tagalog and Filipino.
