Saving My Hubby is a 2002 Korean comedy film directed by Hyeon Nam-seob and starring Bae Doona, Kim Tae-woo, and Hyeon Ju. The movie follows the story of a naive and innocent woman, Geum-soon, who is married to an abusive and dangerous man, Dong-won. Despite being subjected to his relentless abuse and frequent beatings, Geum-soon clings onto the hope that her husband will eventually change and turn into a loving partner.

The plot kicks off with Geum-soon accidentally witnessing a murder committed by a mobster in a video store. The mobster, who happens to be a member of a notorious gang, realizes that Geum-soon has seen him during the murder, and decides to eliminate her as a potential witness. After narrowly escaping the hitman's bullets, she flees to the police station to report the crime, but instead ends up getting arrested for a minor traffic violation.

Meanwhile, Geum-soon's husband Dong-won is busy gambling at a casino, when he is suddenly abducted by the same gangsters who tried to kill Geum-soon. They demand a large sum of money from him as compensation for his recent gambling loss. Desperate to save her husband, Geum-soon realizes that she needs to come up with a cunning plan to gather the ransom money.

The rest of the movie follows Geum-soon as she tries her best to raise the required sum of money, while using her wits and charm to outsmart the gangsters who are after her. She seeks help from her friend, an illegal immigrant working at a noodle shop, who agrees to assist her in raising the money.

Throughout the movie, Geum-soon is portrayed as a woman who is desperate to keep her marriage intact, despite being aware of her husband's abusive nature. She is determined to save her husband at all costs, even if it means putting herself in harm's way. Her character is portrayed as naive and somewhat childish, but with a surprisingly strong survival instinct.

One of the highlights of the movie is the performance of Bae Doona, who is able to convincingly play the role of a vulnerable yet strong-willed woman who is willing to go to great lengths to protect her husband. Her acting skills shine through in various scenes, especially during moments of extreme danger and tension.

The movie also benefits from its solid supporting cast, especially Kim Tae-woo, who plays the role of the gangster who is constantly pursuing Geum-soon. He is able to infuse his character with a mix of menace and humor, which makes him a memorable villain.

Overall, Saving My Hubby is an entertaining and engaging movie that successfully mixes comedy, action, and drama. It is a movie about love, loyalty, and survival, which is carried by its talented cast and well-written script. Fans of Korean cinema and comedy films in general should definitely not miss this gem of a movie.
