School for Seduction is a humorous and tantalizing romantic comedy that was released in 2004, directed by Sue Heel. The film focuses on the story of a young Italian woman named Sophia Rosselini (played by Sabina Loddo), who moves to Newcastle, UK to work in her aunt's posh lingerie shop. Along the way, she meets a group of lively local women who are all struggling to find love and confidence in their romantic lives.

Sophia's aunt, Lana (played by Kelly Brook), runs a "school for seduction" in the back of the shop, where she teaches women how to build their self-esteem, put themselves out there, and attract a suitable partner. At first, Sophia is skeptical about the idea, but soon she finds herself drawn to the teachings of her aunt and the other women in the class. Sophia starts seeing things differently and begins to build up her own confidence, all while trying not to fall for the wrong man.

The film is a lighthearted and engaging look at the universal struggle to find love, confidence, and self-acceptance. The story is beautifully woven together highlighting the different experiences of the female characters in the film. The struggles they have to go through are deep-rooted and will resonate with any person who is looking for love and self-appreciation.

Sophia is a fun protagonist who embodies a delightful mix of strength, sexuality, and humor. She struggles with tradition and the culture she comes from, but she also yearns for something else that she finds in the school for seduction. She is relatable and likable, and the viewers can't help but root for her throughout the movie.

Kelly Brook's character, Lana, is Sophia's aunt and the person who runs the school for seduction. Her character is a little complicated - on one hand, she is empowered, unapologetic, and a champion for other women, but on the other hand, she has her own vulnerability and insecurities. She is also the comedic relief in the film, as she navigates her relationships and interacts with the other women in the class.

The rest of the women in the class, including the likes of Nicky (played by Emily Woof), the overworked mother and housewife; Jacqueline (played by Margi Clarke), a hopeless romantic without a love interest; and Kelly (played by Jessica Johnson), a young woman dealing with her BFF stealing her boyfriend, all bring new stories and experiences to the table. They all help to develop Sophia's character, and similarly, Sophia's journey helps to develop and enrich their characters.

Jake Canuso's character, Al, is arrogant and slightly unlikable at the beginning of the film. He is a male stripper who also works in the lingerie store selling bras to women. Sophia initially finds him obnoxious, but as she begins to open up to the women in the class, she finds herself drawn to Al's charm as well. Their relationship is a pivotal plot point that moves the viewer through the film, leaving you rooting for their union.

The film moves smoothly and steadily and takes you on a journey of discovery as Sophia learns to seduce and believe in herself. The pacing of the story is perfect, not too slow, not too fast, allowing the viewer to enjoy the development of each character and their storylines. The characters are well developed, and the dialogue is crisp and engaging, making the viewer both laugh and cry at various points.

Overall, School for Seduction is a heartwarming and funny romantic comedy with a feel-good message that women of all ages and backgrounds can relate to. It's unapologetic about the idea of female empowerment and how a woman's sexuality could be harnessed as a tool to gain self-confidence. It teaches us that the key to happiness and self-love is to appreciate ourselves for who we are by teaching us to celebrate our differences, accept our flaws and appreciate our qualities.
