Set in the late 1800s, Sergeants 3 follows a group of three singing cowboys, played by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr., who are tasked with protecting the Chadwick Stagecoach Company's gold shipments from bandits in the wild West. The three Sergeants are stationed in a dusty town called Fort Deerfield, where they are expected to maintain law and order.

The plot picks up when a band of bandits, led by Jackass (played by Victor Buono), raids the local bank, making off with a sizable sum of money. The Sergeants are quickly called into action, but they soon discover that Jackass and his gang are too powerful to handle on their own. They set out to recruit some help from the local community, but they struggle to find anyone willing to risk their life.

Meanwhile, the Chadwick Stagecoach Company decides to test an experimental wagon that can move faster than any other vehicle, which they believe will discourage any future attacks by bandits. The wagon, which is called the "Iron Monster," is built by a talented engineer named Jonah Williams (played by Peter Falk). The Sergeants convince Williams to join them in their mission, and he proves to be a valuable asset.

As the story unfolds, the Sergeants and their team face a series of challenges and obstacles, including a run-in with a group of Native Americans, a confrontation that leads to a death, and a dangerous stand-off with Jackass and his gang. Along the way, the three singing cowboys show off their musical talents, performing several catchy tunes that add a lighthearted touch to the otherwise tense plot.

One of the highlights of the film is the chemistry between the three leads, who were all members of the legendary Rat Pack. Their banter and camaraderie add an extra layer of fun to the movie, making it an enjoyable experience for fans of the actors. Another standout aspect is the action scenes, which are impressively staged and thrilling to watch.

Sergeants 3 was directed by John Sturges, who had previously helmed the classic Westerns The Magnificent Seven and Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Sturges' signature style, which emphasizes tough-guy personas, masculine energy, and fast-paced action, is evident throughout the film.

Overall, Sergeants 3 is a fun and entertaining Western that fans of Sinatra, Martin, and Davis Jr. are sure to enjoy. While it may not be as well-known as some of the Rat Pack's other films, such as Ocean's Eleven and Robin and the 7 Hoods, it is still a worthwhile watch for anyone who loves Westerns or classic Hollywood cinema.
