Shadow People is a 2013 horror movie directed by Matthew Arnold and based on true events that took place during the 1970s. Dallas Roberts plays Charlie Crowe, a radio host who takes calls from listeners who report sightings of shadowy figures lurking in their bedrooms at night. As he investigates, he discovers that these sightings are not a new phenomenon and that they have been reported for centuries under various names, such as shadow men, hat men, or the old hag.

Alison Eastwood plays Amanda, a CDC epidemiologist who teams up with Charlie to investigate the mysterious deaths of people who have reported seeing shadow figures before dying. Amanda believes that the shadow people may be a type of sleep paralysis, a condition in which the body is paralyzed during REM sleep but the mind is awake, causing terrifying hallucinations. However, Charlie is not convinced and believes that there is something more sinister going on.

Anne Dudek plays Jordan, Charlie's wife, who is pregnant with their first child. Jordan is worried about Charlie's obsession with the shadow people and the toll it is taking on their relationship. She urges him to let go of his investigation and focus on their family instead, but Charlie is determined to uncover the truth.

As Charlie and Amanda dig deeper, they discover a government cover-up involving experiments on sleep deprivation and mind control. They also uncover a connection between the shadow people and a rare medical condition that affects the pineal gland, a small gland in the brain that regulates sleep patterns and the production of melatonin, a hormone that affects mood and mind.

As the investigation leads them to a shadowy figure who may hold the key to the mystery, Charlie and Amanda find themselves in a race against time to uncover the truth before it's too late.

The movie is a psychological horror with a slow-burning tension that builds up as the investigation progresses. It is well-acted and well-directed, with some genuinely scary moments that will make you jump out of your seat. The use of real footage and photos of shadow people sightings adds to the realism of the movie and makes it even more unsettling.

Overall, Shadow People is a solid horror movie that will appeal to fans of the genre as well as those who enjoy a good mystery. It tackles some interesting themes, such as the power of suggestion, the limits of science, and the fear of the unknown. If you're looking for a creepy, atmospheric movie that will keep you guessing until the end, then Shadow People is definitely worth watching.

Shadow People is a 2012 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes.
