Shredderman Rules is a family comedy film from 2007, directed by Savage Steve Holland and based on the book series of the same name by Wendelin Van Draanen. It stars Devon Werkheiser as young Nolan Byrd, Tim Meadows as his teacher Mr. Green, and Daniel Roebuck as the school principal Mr. Scrimmage. The movie follows Nolan, a shy and nerdy seventh-grader who is constantly bullied by his classmates, particularly by his nemesis, Bubba Bixby, who enjoys humiliating Nolan in front of his crush, Amanda. One day, Nolan discovers a new passion for journalism, inspired by his hero, the award-winning reporter Bob Woodward. With the help of his tech-savvy friend, Adam, Nolan creates an online alter ego named Shredderman, a fearless investigative journalist who uncovers injustices and exposes wrongdoers in the school and beyond.

As Shredderman, Nolan investigates Bubba's shady business dealings, which involve selling fake baseball cards and running a a pirate DVD ring. However, Nolan's expose attracts the attention of Mr. Green, who sees Shredderman as a threat to his authority and tries to shut him down. Meanwhile, Mr. Scrimmage suspects that Nolan is Shredderman and puts pressure on him to confess his identity.

Nolan also faces personal challenges, as he struggles to balance his schoolwork, his friendship with Adam, and his feelings for Amanda, who seems oblivious to his existence. However, as Shredderman, Nolan gains confidence and respect, and becomes a hero to the other students who have been victimized by Bubba and his gang. He also discovers that journalism can be a powerful tool for change, and that the truth can set him free.

The movie has a lighthearted and energetic tone, with a mix of slapstick humor, witty dialogue, and heartwarming moments. Devon Werkheiser is endearing as Nolan/Shredderman, and brings a relatable charm to the role of an underdog who finds his voice. Tim Meadows is hilarious as Mr. Green, a hapless teacher who tries to impress his crush, the science teacher Ms. Rulenska, by teaching about yogurt. Daniel Roebuck is appropriately stern as Mr. Scrimmage, the authoritarian principal who dislikes creativity and deems Shredderman a menace.

The supporting cast includes a cast of quirky characters, such as Bubba's henchmen, The Hammer and The Sickler; the eccentric school librarian, Mrs. Crubbs, who provides Nolan with valuable information; and the mysterious janitor, known as The Cleaner, who helps Nolan evade capture. The film also features some fun and inventive visual effects, such as the animation sequences of Shredderman's investigations, which add a playful and dynamic element to the storytelling.

Overall, Shredderman Rules is an entertaining and upbeat movie that celebrates the power of individuality and the importance of standing up for what you believe in. It has a positive message for kids and adults alike, and shows that even the smallest voice can make a big difference. It's a classic underdog story that will make you laugh, root for the hero, and feel good about the world.
