Small Faces is a British drama film that takes place in Glasgow, Scotland during the 1960s. It follows the lives of three teenage brothers- Bobby, Alan, and Lex- who grow up in a working-class household. Bobby, the oldest, is the leader of the group and is portrayed as a hard, street-smart individual. Alan, the middle brother, is more sensitive and introverted, while Lex, the youngest, idolizes his older brothers and desperately wants to prove himself.

The trio is deeply involved in the Mods subculture- a youth movement that emerged in the 1960s that was characterized by fashion, music, and scooters. Bobby, Alan, and Lex frequently attend dances and social events with their Mod friends, where they dance and take drugs.

However, their carefree lifestyle is disrupted when Bobby starts to get involved with a local gangster named Malky Johnson. Malky sees potential in Bobby and offers him a job as a runner, which involves delivering drugs and money for the gang.

As Bobby becomes more involved in Malky's operations, tensions arise among the brothers. Alan is strongly against Bobby's involvement with Malky, while Lex is eager to join his brother in the gangster lifestyle.

The film also portrays the strained relationship between the brothers and their father, who is an alcoholic and frequently absent. Their mother is a strong and loving figure who does her best to keep the family together.

Small Faces tackles themes of adolescent rebellion, identity, and the consequences of decisions. The film's soundtrack, which features songs by bands such as The Who and The Kinks, adds an authentic touch to the Mod culture portrayed in the film.

The performances by the three leads- Iain Robertson, Joe McFadden, and Steven Duffy- are all excellent. They expertly convey the complex emotions and relationships between the brothers, and their portrayal of the Mods subculture feels authentic.

Overall, Small Faces is a compelling coming-of-age drama that offers a unique look into Glasgow's subcultures during the 1960s. The film is a must-see for fans of British cinema and period dramas.

Small Faces is a 1995 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 48 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.9.
